Following a leisure breakfast, we will depart for yet another adventure in the Coastal lands of Ghana. This region has had the most significant effect on the lives of Africans in the diaspora.
En route, visit Kakum National Park, one of Ghana’s most celebrated natural treasures. Stroll through the lush forest on a guided walk, spotting colorful birds, fluttering butterflies, and over 40 species of mammals, including playful monkeys and the elusive forest elephant. Do not miss the Canopy Walk, Africa’s only aerial walkway through the treetops—a thrilling 1,000-foot trail with seven suspension bridges and viewing platforms that soar more than 150 feet above the forest floor, offering breathtaking views of the rainforest below.
Continue to Cape Coast. Upon arrival, visit Cape Coast Castle, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. This historic fortress stands as a powerful reminder of the transatlantic slave trade. During the guided tour, you will journey through the somber dungeons that once held thousands of enslaved Africans and pass through the infamous “Door of No Return,” reflecting on one of the most painful chapters in the region’s history.
After the visit, check into the Lemon Beach Resort and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

After a sumptuous buffet breakfast, explore Elmina Castle—a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This thought-provoking monument stands as a powerful reminder of the transatlantic slave trade. You can also purchase literature on Ghana’s forts, castles, and cultural traditions.
At the castle, participate in the Fihankra ceremony. It aims to reconnect people of African descent to their motherland, healing centuries-old cultural and spiritual ties denied during the transatlantic slave trade.

Learn about the black dye-making process from tree bark and create your own Adinkra sash to take home. You can also purchase large pieces of handmade Adinkra Cloth.
End the day with a visit to the Okomfo Anokye Sword Site. An "immovable" historical landmark in Kumasi, planted by the legendary high priest Okomfo Anokye in 1695.
